Dinny's grandparents, Finley Gwyn Harper, Sr. and Anna Corinne Henkel Harper, moved into the Queen Anne style Victorian home in 1923. The home was owned by the Harper family until the year 2000 when the four daughters of Finley Gwyn Harper, Jr. and Mary Banks McPherson Harper worked with the Catawba County Historical Association to transfer the property to the Association for its preservation and use as a museum. The "Harper girls" experienced many happy times in this home.
